In Your Name

Show me Your light.

Send me signs.

For they are

the guideposts of my life.

Signs

Symbols and

Time.

I see You,

I see me in them.

My body says slow down,

My mind won’t listen.

Guide me.

Show me how.

I yearn for Your voice

I am waiting –

my ears are not quiet yet.

And I know that when they are,

I will hear Your whispers

in my heart and mind.

I will find Your mark

stamped on my soul.

That is all I want.

This closeness to You.

It is not time for me

to come home yet.

There is life to be led –

in Your name.

Work to be done –

in Your name.

Joy and love

and light and

laughter to be

experienced

in Your name.

Then I am close to you.

This world is easy to stray.

It is easy to get pulled in, and away.

I am wading back to You.

Fighting the current

that would push me

away from You.

All I want is to be.

To be what You know me to

Be.

It is in Your name

that I live.

It is in Your name

that I love.
