Boundaries keep you safe – just as you have the boundary of your home within which you have sense of security and you are able to drop your guard, so too must you maintain emotional and energetic boundaries.
Emotional boundaries allow you to teach people how you would like to be treated; professionally and personally and no one gets to cross those. You may have different thresholds for different people of your life.
Energetic boundaries are to help you to maintain harmony in your physical and spiritual life. Without this it is easy to lose yourself in the spiritual work and realm and lose your space and time in your physical world. Hence there is a fine line where those of you who are clairaudient, clairvoyant or who can see and talk to souls on the other side. If you do not maintain boundaries, you can easily be swallowed up by the metaphysical.
Your role in this life is to straddle the spiritual and physical. It is easy for us humans to give ourselves over to our work so completely that we do it to the exclusion of everything else in our lives, and everything and everyone else around us has to pay the price of this inability to maintain boundary.
Our greatest lesson of this lifetime is to bring ourselves back from the edge of what is not healthy for ourselves or those around us, and develop a sense of harmony. Intersperse rest, recovery and time away from work, learn to delegate better, learn capacity and most importantly learn to say NO where necessary.
Your job is not to serve the entire world. Your job is to do your job while exhibiting leadership and creating or supporting a culture of excellence which brings everyone you work with along for the journey where you can lead by example; that rest and play is as important as hard work and dedication to work.
All this starts with intentionality. It is easy to believe that there isn’t time in the day for all that needs doing, and if this is what you believe, then this is your truth.
However intending, affirming and committing to rest and play helps to bring that into focus, because what you think about, you bring about. It may not be overnight, but maintaining your intention and carving out small portion of rest, even if just a few minutes at a time make it so that you have allowed a trickle of rest, and soon the trickle can become a flow.
When you intend it, circumstances shift to accommodate you.
You will find things that are inconsequential organically drop away, Energy-sucking people automatically move out of your life, and the right people, jobs, opportunities and situations present themselves in a way that is aligned with your intention of rest and play. And more rest and play automatically rise to the surface. When you prioritize rest and play, counterintuitively, you will find that your work thrives and you will experience success in a more fulfilling and expansive manner.
You set the intention, thereafter the work for you is to not resist the changes that will flow. Listen to the soft voice that nudges, that tells you to do a yoga class in the middle of the day when you find a break in your calendar, or that tells you to go for a walk, or close your door and take a nap or do a quick breath meditation, or perhaps you get a cup of coffee with someone who soothes your soul.
Take the cues – do not ignore them. And watch the course of your life shift as you live a life of harmony, rest, play and abundance of love, joy and meaning.
