Saucha or Purity is a deep inner cleansing – like taking a bottle brush to your mind and getting all the gunk that is stuck in the little nooks and crannies out. And like any detox it will manifest in different ways; physically, emotionally and mentally. The key is to sit with the emotions, allow them to wash over you, but release them so they don’t engulf you. Surrender them to God so that you can be free of the mental shackles that you bind yourself with. Give them over to Him. Trust that He can handle that and so much more and that only in releasing them, only in completely handing over and freeing yourself from the mind prison can you free yourself to live life wholly and completely.
Purity can be doing one thing at a time, detoxifying the inputs. Allowing yourself the space you promised. Take time to sit and stare, to sit and allow your mind to wander. Don’t read, leave your phone alone – just be present. See what comes up through this sitting.
This time is for you to be one with your body. To be aware of all your muscles. To know yourself. To focus on yourself. Not just mind and spirit but body too. This is Yoga – the Unity – the awareness of mind, body, spirit and strength.
Single-minded focus on yourself – love yourself in all your flaws. Be kind to You. Leave yourself alone for a while. Put aside the knowing you have, you can always pick it up later. Just be open to what wants to come through – all of it.
Be You, Gitanjali. Find You. She is Here. Waiting to be seen, heard and embraced. Be present with yourself. She is Here – ready to Step into this Life. Love Her the way I love you. This shell – this lifetime – embrace yourself wholly and completely.

Be kind, the way you are kind to your children.
Treat yourself the same way. With the same kindness you would show to any child.
Same courtesy.
Same grace and patience.
Give yourself space to breathe to be present.
The more you do this, at first your mind will revolt by thinking of all the things and having them all collide inside of you as if planets have fallen out of orbit.
Trust.
Be patient and continue to create space to do one thing at a time.
Over time, your mind will stop revolting.
It will accept that there is only one task to be done.
And it will be done.
One at a time.
And it will be done well.
And you will live the way God intended.
The way He sees you.
Pure as driven snow.
